TRAINING CONTRACTS
Our training programme is fairly comprehensive:
Each trainee will have a Partner as a supervising solicitor and a more junior lawyer as a mentor. These senior lawyers will follow your progress closely. Being a smaller firm, there will be many opportunities for all the partners to work with the trainees.
We also seek to allow trainees to have exposure to all sort of work - this includes civil, family and criminal litigation, corporate and conveyancing practices. Your exposure to all these various sort of work will allow you to know which areas you have the most interest in.
We treat your training seriously. We believe in helping our trainees realise their fullest potential. We have an "open-door policy" – where trainees and lawyers are free to brainstorm and approach anybody (including partners) for advice and guidance. As a trainee, you will receive training to develop your legal skills and prepare you for legal practice. This will include training in the following areas:
client care and management;
drafting work;
legal research;
negotiation, mediation skills;
advocacy; and
professional responsibility, etiquette and conduct.
You will be given the opportunity to work on files, participate in client and other meetings and attend court.
We welcome applications for practice training contracts.
